Thank You, Scott

Apparently Scott Pioli pays attention.  Randy Moss back in Foxboro for 3 years at $27 million per.  High-priced, yes.  Moody, perhaps.  But come on, he’s the best wide reciever in football.  One piece left to fill the offensive puzzle, another wide reciever with decent hands who can serve as the No. 2.  No, folks, there’s no need to move Wes Welker when he’s the best slot receiver in the game.  Stallworth was a disappointment by most accounts and finding a cheap replacement should be easy.  Who knows, maybe Chad Jackson finally steps up to the hype of a first-round pick.

In other news, time for Mr. Pioli to focus on the defense.  There’s no way he’s replacing Asante Samuel, Randall Gay, and Roosevelt Colvin with the 7th overall pick.  Don’t forget Bruschi and Seau are still free agents though hopefully they’ll sign for the hometown discount and a potential Super Bowl ring.  Either way time for the reputation to live up to itself.  This isn’t baseball and the Patriots can’t spend as much as the Red Sox to ensure a contender every year.  Let’s hope this offseason doesn’t signal the beginning of the end.
